News From the Classroom
We want to wish everyone who celebrates a Happy Diwali this weekend! Diwali is the first celebration of light of the season, as the days start out darker and the nights become longer. The Garden playground is always a little darker as we are in the shadow of Tiger Mountain and even in early summer, the sun doesn’t hit the woodchips until noon. We love the sunny fall afternoons where we watch the steam rise from the woodchips while the Bees are running about.
Pumpkin Patch Day today! How fun to gather as an entire school at this wonderful celebration of the season! The teachers are excited to play with you all this afternoon!
Next week are the Parent Teacher Check-Ins. We hope you have all signed up for a time that works for you. It’s a great time to check in to see how your kiddo is doing, both at home getting ready for school, and at school and working with others. It’s a quick ten minutes, but you can always ask if you would like to discuss anything more in depth, or at a different time. Just let us know!
Ladybug
We loved asking the kiddos their pumpkin patch news. How fun it was to spend the afternoon with you all at Carpinito Brothers.
Cricket
We loved asking the Crickets about their pumpkin patch news. How fun it was to spend the afternoon with so many of you at the Carpinito Brothers’ Pumpkin Patch!
Honeybee
It was so fun to spend the afternoon with so many of you at the Carpinito Brothers’ Pumpkin Patch! We loved seeing lots of big siblings take part as well. Not that we encourage playing ‘hooky’, but… It sure was fun! :0)
We celebrated our first Honeybee birthday circle this week for Elli! Isn’t the Honeybee birthday circle the best? We love to watch the birthday Bee accepting the accolades that their classmates bestow on them. It’s a wonderful tradition and we’ve heard of many birthday books that are still on bookshelves as the alumni works their way through high school and beyond.

Gratitude Corner
Thank you to Carpinito Brothers for opening up their gorgeous Family Fun Yard to us every year! How fun to play in the corn pit, ride the tractor pulled covered wagons and try and find the items on the scavenger hunt, watch the goats walk on the overhead bridge and visit all the animals, and of course, grab a pumpkin to take home.
The Carpinito’s have a long history with The Children’s Garden, as we have had 7 of their kiddos as students and know of at least one more that will be a Gardener in a few years!
They have gifted us with mini pumpkins or sugar pumpkins for each student to take home for years, landscaping materials, trees and plants and auction sponsorships, and the pumpkin patch is one of our favorites to visit. Thank you Carpinito Brothers!
And…we hope everyone takes some time to head over to the Carpinito’s produce stand in Kent. The fruit and vegetables are amazing! At least one of the teachers does their produce shopping there at least once a week!
