The Mousehole

What a fun week! Cricket and Honeybee Leprechaun Days on Monday, Board Meeting on Tuesday, Cricket Parent Teacher conferences on Wednesday, and Kentucky Derby tickets went on sale! Purchase your tickets in the first week, before next Thursday, and they are 5 dollars off!

Ladybugs
Our little Ladybugs are just happily rolling along. Our students all come willingly to do projects with the teachers, most know their classmates’ names and the tears that we rarely see at drop off disappear within a minute! The kids are beginning to form their friendships, and we are loving to watch them learn their dances for the Art Show. We are beginning to work on our adorable decor for the Spring Egg Hunt. On Thursday, we celebrated the first day of Spring with some sweet flower hats! Speaking of hats, do you have your fancy Derby Hats and Bow ties ready for the auction?

The Kentucky Derby…And They’re Off! Tickets went on sale this week. For our new Garden families, you don’t want to miss this event! The fun items up for auction, the adorable kid made projects, and the amazing community building that happens on this beautiful evening makes lifelong friendships. If you are just joining our community, save the date, book your sitter, and plan on a wonderful time! Get your tickets this week for the early bird special pricing!

Crickets
Oh! How we loved watching our Crickets get tossed high in the air, do their special handshakes and dance their little feet off! Leprechaun Day is such an exciting time for our 4 year olds!

Our Crickets are beginning to learn their dances for the Art Show and we are making our adorable decor for the Spring Egg Hunt. On Friday, we made “First Day of Spring” crowns to celebrate the new season. (On Wednesday, we had snow!) The weather is almost as jumpy as our Crickets!

On Wednesday, the teachers enjoyed getting to conference with you all about our adorable students. As always, if you have questions or concerns about anything at any time, you don’t need to wait for a conference to discuss it. Reach out any time with an email, text or a gazebo conversation. We are honored to be a part of your child’s ‘village’, and want to work together to do what is best for your Cricket and to help them grow their love of school, their social emotional skills and their best selves.

We are excited to hear that the Cricket moms are getting together to make some fabulous fascinators, bow ties and derby hats! What a fun group you are!

Honeybees
We are so proud of these Bees! We had a few favorite stuffy reports to finish up and are pleased with so many of you signed up to do the World Culture Reports. We had wonderful demonstrations and examples of past reports from big siblings, Charlie and Makodyn. Thanks big sibs! We love how much you mean to us and we love how much you want to help out your little brother and sister.

We had another big kid helper this week, our friend Jamyson, who was a student at The Garden when we were completely outdoors, during COVID. She was excited to see the inside of the classroom, and having never been inside before, she still knew all the routines that we kept alive during our ‘Branching Out’ program. Sweet to see.

The Bees have started working on their passports to prepare for their World travels over the next few weeks, and continue to learn about all the places that we live – our body, our home, our city, our state, our country…We celebrated our friend Kennedi’s 5th trip around the sun, and had a wonderful Leprechaun Day on Monday with our special guests. Thank you to everyone who performed amazing tricks, special secret handshakes, and beautiful dances. We know that this day will be a forever memory for your Honeybee.

We are beginning to work on our Spring Egg Hunt decor, our final project for the Art Show, and our dances for the Art Show. It’s a busy and fun time for our Honeybees and we are having a ball! Speaking of a ball, it’s not quite a ball, but our Auction, dinner and dance is just around the corner! Start coordinating your fascinator hats and your bow ties and seer sucker!
