The Children’s Garden is nestled in the foothills of the Cascade mountains in a park-like setting of natural woodlands, gardens, and hiking trails. A charming wooden bridge spans a bubbling brook to a creatively designed storybook play yard on our Issaquah, Washington campus.

Early Education Substitute Teacher

For over 44 years, The Children’s Garden has provided children aged 2 ½ – 6 years old with a rich curriculum and caring atmosphere that celebrates individual uniqueness, promotes self-esteem and encourages cooperative and caring social interactions. 

The school is actively looking for an early education substitute teacher for our second year preschool class called the “Crickets” (students aged 3.5-5 year olds).

  • Starting Fall 2021 – M/W/F, 3 hrs/day teaching + special events 

  • Classes run 8:15-11:15am

  • Classroom set-up begins: Tuesday, September 7

  • First day of classes: Monday, September 13th (The Children’s Garden follows the Issaquah School District calendar for the exception of the first day)

  • Winter Break: Wednesday, December 15 

Candidate will be the 4th teacher to help facilitate two separate student pods for our 2021 hybrid program. 

Each pod will consist of 2 teachers + 9 students, splitting time between our inside and outside classroom. Regardless of weather, the teachers and students will be required to spend up to 1.5 hours outdoors each class day.  

Requirements: 

  • High school graduation 

  • Early education certification

  • Preferred: Bachelor’s and Masters degrees

  • Two years of experience working with early learners (2 years old+) in a formal setting or equivalent education/experience.  

  • Clear background check

  • CPR/First Aid certification

  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination

  • Masks will be required for all educators and students.
