Announcing Alum of the Year!
Each year as part of our Homecoming celebration, we honor a graduate who embodies the values of the Garden. This year, we have chosen to honor all of The Children’s Garden Alumni who work in the health care industry. Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, we hold a special appreciation for those who are bravely working on the front lines in our hospitals and in the health care field.

To our Alumni of the Year: Congratulations! We extend our heartfelt gratitude for your service to our community. We are so proud of you all!
Squeaks n' Hoots
What a wet and windy week here at The Garden! Your kids are such troopers, though and you guys have been rocking the ‘setting them up for success’ with layers, lots of warm gloves, hand warmers and water proof outer shells. They are happy as little salmon fry, splashing and jumping in the muddy puddles, mixing concoctions at the mud kitchen and sliding down the slide into a puddle of water at the bottom!
We look forward to our check in with everyone that signed up next Tuesday. Details on how to call in to a zoom with a teacher will be sent out prior to Tuesday. You might want to write down questions that you may have ahead of time and send them in so that the teachers can be prepared to get answers for you before your check-in. The teachers will be chatting briefly with you to see how things are going for you and your child, provide some strategies that might benefit your student, and identify any strengths and weaknesses that your child displays in the Branching Out program. We look forward to getting to know each of you a little bit better also!
Speaking of Getting to Know You! Please submit your Family Selfie, COVID story or recipe and a brief paragraph of where you’re from, how you got here, etc. by this weekend. Our goal is to have everyone included in this booklet that will be distributed in December.
One more thing! If you haven’t checked out our Homecoming Page, please do so now. The videos, produced by our own Teacher Brook, share such a lovely glimpse into our program and provide wonderful testimonials of several alums. This week, we can’t wait for you all to see who we are honoring as our Alumni of the Year! This one is sure to tug your heart strings. We do ask for 100% involvement in our Annual Giving Fund, and there are some great gifts at different giving levels. Any donation is deeply appreciated.
We won’t be sending out a Gazette next week as it is Thanksgiving, but we want you to know that we are deeply grateful for each and every one of you for entrusting your children to our program. This year is an extra special one, with all the complications and challenges surrounding us, but it makes it even more special for the staff to know that we are all in this together, working toward building community and helping to form confident, inquisitive, and happy children, to grow up to be incredible caring citizens. Thank you everyone.
Please stay safe, stay warm and dry, and may your home be filled with love! (Tiny pods in person and virtually from afar!)
