A bit about the auction

This is our biggest fundraising opportunity of the year! Last year we raised $36,000, and this year we’re aiming even higher. The main event on April 17th, which will be held online, will kick off our Auction Week. That evening, we’ll log on and enjoy Garden parent Lauren Stephenson as she conducts a live auction for a few of our big-ticket items, kicks off the silent auction (which allows you to bid on the items in our online catalog, EBay-style), and conducts a “Paddle Raise” (an opportunity to donate directly to the school without bidding on an item). The silent auction and Paddle Raise will be open through the following week, to close at midnight on the 24th. We’re also planning a fun new community activity to participate in during that week to keep up our community spirit- details to come!

Procurement

Where do we get these items that go into the auction catalog?  From YOU, dear community members!  Do you have a special skill you can offer- perhaps teaching a class or offering a service?  Are you an artist who would like to contribute a piece of your work?  A baker who could provide a cookie “subscription?”  Fill out a donation form and return it to us!  Or do you know others outside of CGS who you could solicit for donations- artists, restaurants, or other businesses that may be able to contribute goods or services?  Send them the procurement letter and donation form to offer them a chance to make a difference for our students and teachers!  Yes, it sounds intimidating- but worst case, they say no and you move on. (We are resilient, after all!)  If all of us contribute or find a contributor, we’ll be able to make this year’s auction a rousing success!

To be filled out for all donations/items and returned to the office
