Trellis After School Enrichment
An Enrichment Program with Roots in The Children’s Garden
Welcome to Trellis, a magical after school enrichment program for 6 – 9 year olds focused on Citizenship, Creativity, Nature, and Community. Trellis is full of surprises including wonderful field trips and/or visitors where children learn about a remarkable person from our community. The first hour of each session begins in a beautiful forest, rain or shine. This time is spent building forts, mapping trails, learning plant names, looking for and identifying animal tracks, cleaning up our forest, clearing trails and running off pent up energy and playing incredibly fun games! Fantastic art projects are a regular part of Trellis, as well as other creative endeavors which teach children real life skills. For instance, teachers lead dinner table discussions during snack time which focus on a different value each week, while also reinforcing manners and polite conversation in groups. Trellis kids develop confidence and trust in the small group environment. Recognizing the importance of parent bonding and community building, we plan at least one event each quarter that includes the whole family. Find out more about the staff.
Our Trellis schedule for the next school year…
Trellis 2011-2012 Schedule:
• FALL QUARTER: Begins October 5th, and is 10 sessions on Wednesdays from 3:30-5:30 PM, with no session on 11/23/2011.
• WINTER QUARTER: Begins January 4th, and is 10 sessions on Wednesdays from 3:30 to 5:30 with no session on 2/22/2012.
• SPRING QUARTER: Begins March 21st,, and is 10 sessions on Wednesdays from 4:00 to 5:30 with no session on 4/11/2012.
Trellis is open to all 6 – 9 year old students who have graduated from the the Honeybees (5’s class) class or 6 – 9 year old students who have peers who have graduated from the the Honeybees (5’s class). Next we open to siblings and close friends of Garden and Trellis families. Finally, in our spring quarter, we open up a few spaces to the enrolled Honeybee students of the current school year. Space is limited so contact us to reserve your spot in this amazing program!
Trellis is $350 per quarter. Reserve space with $175 deposit made out to: The Children’s Garden.
